OneNote Class Notebook gives students one digital place to access course content, organise their work and build useful study resources. Because notes, lesson materials and activities can be kept together, students can spend less time searching for information and more time engaging with it.

Keep information organised

Encourage your child to use clearly named sections and pages for each subject or topic. Pages can hold typed or handwritten notes, images, brainstorming and teacher-provided resources. A consistent structure makes it easier to find material when completing homework or preparing for an assessment.

Make reading more accessible

Immersive Reader can adjust text size, font, background colour and line focus, and it can read text aloud. These options can help students reduce visual distractions and choose a format that supports their concentration and comprehension. To open it, select View and then Immersive Reader.

Practise Mathematics

Math Assistant can support students as they work through mathematical problems. After writing or typing an equation, students can select Math, choose an action and view the steps used to reach the solution. They can also generate practice questions based on a similar concept. This tool is most helpful when used to understand the process and practise independently, rather than simply obtain an answer.

Build active study habits

OneNote works best when students do more than store information. Encourage your child to turn lesson notes into summaries, questions, diagrams or revision pages. Forms and quizzes may also be embedded in notebook pages, giving students opportunities to check their understanding.

Parents do not need to manage the notebook themselves. A quick weekly check-in, asking your child to show where their notes are stored or explain a recent revision page, can help reinforce organisation, independence and regular study habits.
